Moments ("we", "us") is operated as part of the Read The Credits project. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website and clip editing service, and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account data — email and profile information via Clerk when you sign up.
- Usage data — minutes processed, exports, plan tier, and basic product analytics events (e.g. analyse completed, export success).
- Content you submit — YouTube URLs, uploaded interview files, transcripts, clip edits, and export settings needed to provide the service.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe; we store Stripe customer and subscription IDs, not full card numbers.
- Technical data — IP address (for rate limiting and security), browser type, and error logs.
How we use data
- Transcribe and analyse interviews to suggest clip moments.
- Render and store exported MP4 files you request.
- Enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
- Improve reliability, support, and product analytics.
- Send service-related email (account, billing) via our auth and payment providers.
Third-party services
We use trusted processors to run Moments, including:
- Clerk (authentication)
- Stripe (payments)
- Supabase (database)
- Vercel (hosting)
- YouTube / yt-dlp (source video access when you paste a URL)
- Whisper, Deepgram, or similar (speech-to-text)
- Cloudflare R2 or S3-compatible storage (exports)
- Sentry (optional error monitoring)
When you paste a YouTube URL, you are responsible for having rights to clip that content for your intended use. We do not claim ownership of your source videos or exported clips.
Retention
We retain account and usage data while your account is active. Exported files and job records may be deleted after a reasonable period or when you remove saved clips. You may request deletion by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us at the email below. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
